![]() So the UT editor can export existing textures as .dds (direct draw surface) files... but I can't find anything that can read them. I downloaded a few programs that claimed to open .dds files, but they don't work with the ones exported from the UT editor...
Anyone know how to convert .dds files? |

![]() GIMP 2.10 and higher is supposed to come with a DDS plugin out-of-the-box.

![]() Thanks. I'll give GIMP and the standalone NVIDIA tools a go. The link I posted has the WOTGrealexporter which seemed to work well enough...other than the interface being a bit dated, it was nice to extract certain elements (textures, meshes etc) out of a map.

![]() Gimp def works. WOT Greal is good but for texture not needed. Right click texture in editor then export.

![]() When I try to export in the editor it only gives me the .dds format... no other formats? I right click on the texture and select export ...

![]() It depends on whether or not the texture was compressed in the editor. With DXT compression, it can only export it as DDS. If it stayed as uncompressed RGBA file, it can be exported as TGA, BMP or UCX.
