Default Windows 10 and UT2K4

Sorry if this has been touched on in another topic or side note, but since i did not see a forum topic by this name and W10 is now live... has anyone installed Windows 10 and does UT2K4 work within the infrastructure with zero problems? while i hated windows 8 with a passion, Microsoft seems to have this hit and miss thing going with every windows OS release. (windows XP -awesome, but windows Vista - sucked!... windows 7 - big hit, windows 8 - sucked!) so judging by their track record and the fact that Windows 10 is free to W7 and W8 users, I thought i would try it out on a W7 laptop i have first, then my main media/gaming PC.
Please let me know your thoughts on your experience with W10 and UT2K4
Thanks!

I haven't tried it yet, enterprise 10 isn't out yet but UT is fine under 8.1 and there is little difference other then cosmetic with 10, I'm sure it will be fine.,

I upgraded my PC to Windows 10 during the preview period and ran UT2004 on it no problem. I went back to my regular Windows 7 install at some point. So I haven't tried it with the release version of Windows 10.

I've noticed that too don't forget to add to that, Win 95 sucked Win 98 SE good, Win ME sucked, then Win XP.

I was dumb enough to buy Windows Vista, because I wanted my 64 bit processor to work to its full potential, what a waste of money. Glad to hear win 10 works well, I'll upgrade in the next week or two.

You might still want to wait a bit. Microsoft's new "all or nothing" strategy for installing patches seems to have b0rked Nvidia drivers for many Win10 users shortly after release.

I thought 95 was a great OS at the time. I just didn't count the 9x OS's here because that architecture died with ME (thank God!!) There was one more before XP - Windows 2000. It wasn't bad, first NT kernel to use USB and plug and pray if I remember correctly.

I have had it loaded on my laptop for all of 10 minutes now

NOT impressed. I could write a book about what sucks. The trash bin icon looks like something from 10 years ago. The Vista icon was far more impressive. Default font sucks.. windows borders sucks. Yea the start button is back, but its like you are looking at a VM of windows 8.

Ubuntu or Mint looks far better than this!

Installing was an oddity too. It came up to a point it asked for a product key, which i didn't have. I stopped the installation right there and rebooted. It finished building windows 10! when i searched for and found windows activation, it said windows was activated! umm ok.

I wonder if the kool-aid drinking Microsoft junkies will swallow this one?
But i will try and keep an open mind

FYI here are some more fun things for you to opt out of Sarge: Windows 10 is spying on almost everything you do – here’s how to opt out

This is so bad. There's no excuse for MS selling this info about people. I won't be updating to Windows 10 and if this is the future of Windows then... wow.

Windows 7 works just fine for me. I doubt I'll be upgrading because... well... why ?

My life is too busy to waste time learning a new OS. I'd rather waste time posting in here and playing UT.

FYI: I had Win10 Pro on an otherwise unused laptop for about 12 hours (of which I slept about 8h). This morning I cleared its harddisks and installed Win7 Pro instead. Best decision in a long time, despite having to go though an update orgy.
Before Win10, that laptop was running Win8.1 Pro, also originally as a test installation, but it stuck because it didn't annoy me quite enough to revert. So yeah, Win10 made me install Win7 again.

I intend to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 sometime during the next month and give it a try but I will be making an image of my boot drive first, just in case.

Windows 10 feels like Windows 8 after you spent a couple hours trying to make it feel like Windows 7.

It's a free upgrade for anyone on 7 or 8 for like the entire next year, right?

Yes, but keep in mind that you essentially buy it with your data. (And the loss of your Win7/8 license - you are only allowed to either use Win7/8 or 10 with a specific CD key.)

I was afraid of that. Similar to how Nero has been doing business.. sure the upgrade is cheap, but you lose the license on the previous version.
