Carpe, your response to Termy's post about needing more admins seemed very snarky to me. I don't understand why you are being weird about it. What is wrong with the community suggesting candidates for admins? They know more about other players than the admins do (except maybe Flounder) and the server could definitely use more admins. Hardspike seems to have come back but he was gone for awhile and even Flounder wasn't around for a while. The only other admin that ever plays anymore is KillerDoggie but he was never an everyday type player and seems to be around less often as time goes by. These guys have lives, ofc, and I'm not saying they should be in the game everyday, which is why more admins are needed.

Binger, thanks man. I appreciate you chiming in and my thoughts exactly. Beth is also an admin but she hasn't checked the forums since December and realistically speaking, she hasn't played UT since maybe October. Not to put any fault on her, she probably found another game or taking a break.

Carpe, I wasn't saying that there is anything wrong with the Admins OMNI has, OMNI just needs more Admins.

The operative word in your first sentence is "seemed". I'm not sure how I'm being "weird". Read more down
below for possible further clarification/explanation.

No, actually you didn't. What you did say was:

"and I expected that response from you..."

That comes off very passive-aggressive. Now, maybe you didn't intend it in the way I interpreted it, but adding
an ellipsis (the three dots) leaves the reader (me) to guess at what the missing words are. Since I've already
felt you were being passive aggressive with your comment, you can guess where my interpretation is going to go ?

The admins have been in discussion for well over a month about adding admins, initiated by a couple of
semi-absent admins and by previous requests from the playing population (here in the forums). I was under
the impression that it was general knowledge we were in that process. I guess I was wrong. I intended no
"snarkiness" or anything else, and it's obvious now that I should have chosen my words more carefully; in my original
"snarky" post I simply banged off a response before I had to, you got it, go do real life shit. So since I just admonished
Termy for watching his p's and q's, I apologize.

We (admins) are on it. Should we require suggestions for suitable candidates, we'll ask. Right now we're good.

Thanks for your patience.

note: fuckers just made me waste 10min on this post, now i hafta run off to work.

Netiquette is a difficult terrain, even though emojis are supposed to help cold-text.

God knows how much regular forum posters and admins discern through these I/O terminal interfaces, and what the other party is supposedly 'meaning'.

I appreciate all of you.

You can't have a Tiamat everywhere. At least the admin area isn't suited for it.

Hey guys, can we get a new sticky that is literally only the names of the current admins on the server?

I think we have a good idea, but it would be nice to know if we are requesting help with something to be sure we are asking someone is actually able to complete administrative actions.

I go fishing on a long range for 8 days and I'm not around much anymore? I'm still here almost every day. I usually play from around 2:00 to 5:00, afternoon delight. Nice to see John SB's made an admin! See ya in game.

I usually don't play that early, CST. Back when you were first made an admin I would see you on the server almost every night and then you basically disappeared. You may play mostly 2 to 5 now but you used to play later so that's what my observation was based on.

Since you have to be a member of the OMNI forum to see the list of admins why don't we just list their names on the servers MOTD?? Then even a player that is new to the server can at least know who to contact if they have a problem. Also we have many players that never have or rarely come to the forums, so how will they know who is or who isn't an admin? Just a Thought

Have a Great Day

I agree, nice one Smoker! I would suggest lengthening the time the message stays on the screen by a second or two for the newbs that don't read so well.
