UT3 Q&A UT3Ed

I figure it can't hurt to have a place to just ask random questions instead of having to make a new thread every time one pops up, and anyone who's tried out the new editor can help in answering them.

And to start us off, does anyone know if it's better (performance or filesize) to have a single terrain with a lot of textures, or several smaller ones with less textures in each?

EDIT: Oh, and how do I compile stuff in UT3? For 2k4 I just used Umake which kinda spoiled me there... >.>; Is there something like that for UT3, or... what?

  1. Does anyone know of a simple tutorial explaining how to set up powercore explosions in WAR?
  2. Is there a way to set teleporters to allow orbs to pass through them?

I thought that a lot of the mappers here would love this site that I have found. It currently holds 75 Training movies for the UT3 Unreal editor (I am only on the 20th one).

Here is the site: http://www.utforge.com/index.php?page=31.

Seems like most of the tutorials or anything having to due with terrain building and sky doming for ut2k4 and the unreal editor that comes with it is dead or rather misleading, ive spent weeks looking at the same links over and over which talk about the unreal editor 3 but they either dont talk about sky domeing, or are the completely wrorng edition of the editor, so all i can do is assume that most of these people either dont know what unread ed 3 is, or the versions of the same software is so different between ut2k4 releases.
My Version of unreal ed 3 came with my ut2k4 from GOGgames.com
