The balancer worked pretty well before it was turned off, now it's 3-0 every other map. I thought per-map data was on, because it worked fine before.

The balancer isn't just "on" or "off", it has a number of configurable options. Additionally, it can only balance by previous PPH among players who are on the server the moment the match start countdown hits zero. When exactly that happens after map load can be configured as well in the server and should be set to a number that is high enough to allow all relevant players to join. And really everything goes out the window if a significant number of players need to download the map first.

I understand, but with the previous settings it worked better.

Something is not right.

This was the match last night on TAL. Notice the join times and where players were put on the teams. I was on blue before specing and capturing this. This killed the server at 11:30 at night.



I've harped on inter-round balancing, but it seems the balancers judgment is a bit goofed so I am unsure how that would work? I can tell you are Ceonns it works well when there is a blow out.

I know there are a vocal few who hate the balancer. These are also the same people (for the most part) that say the inter-round balancing ruins the team environment. That is fairly short sighted though since that statement would likely come from people on the winning team more frequently. 50% of the players are getting crushed and don't have a team...

I oppose "inter round team balancing". It kills moral. Loyality is thicker than victory and should be encouraged.

Unfortunate that happened Lag, duly noted and should be addressed.

There are other glitches with the "teams" balancer too. Today, QuadBlack was alone in a 3 humans on Quad match. I typed teams, but all I got was this: "Teams are as balanced as they can be".

Known bug/issue. Just FYI- the current workaround is for someone to manual switch and wait a few seconds for the bot to switch. If you don't wait, it throws you right back on the team that you were on.

I understand what you are saying. This is a game though, which has an express purpose of enjoyment. All get that in their own ways, myself included, but it feels like we are sacrificing fun for some perceived loyalty. I say perceived because truly this is a game, and loyalty only goes so far in it. I personally think that if we can make the experience better for more people we should. When a one sided beatdown is occurring, loyalty is also more or less one sided as well... Some people keep trying, but they know they are just beating their head against a wall. Some people just f-off, which is frustrating but I understand. Why add a few minutes to something that is still going to result in a blow out. Some people quit. Some people on the winning team sandbag the round out, so they can smash the core, with the simple intent of making people dissatisfied with their experience in game. It seems like all of this can be simply be fixed with a mulligan. And you can still have loyalty. It's the color for the team you are playing on at any given time, and the server we play on. I think we should strive to make it as enjoyable as possible for as many as possible.

Joined late game last night, knew I might get switched but no one was taking the mino on Kamek, so I took it out for a run. Pooty was gunning, told him I might get switched, so take over if I did. I got switched mid game. But I expected to get switched and knew it might be coming, so no big deal.

Next game, Tank-A-Lot, 1st round, I was doing the Ion, so I was racking up points, 2nd maybe 3rd or so from the team leader. 2nd game somebody typed teams, I got switched, wasn't expecting it since I was inround since beginning of game 1 and had score. Oh man that sucked big time. Didn't want to play after that. I know, should of manned up and just play for the sake of playing and enjoy the game, but my initial beast-mode reaction was F that, I'm outta here.

Yep, I couldn't take over, for whatever reason, once the switch happened, my view was scrolling (like the Goo Levi thing) and I couldn't recover. Never seen that in the mino though. Had to suicide from the console....ugh.

Good to know. I won't do that again, felt funny about it anyways, taking a high value asset knowing I might get switched at any moment.

Funny thing is when I got switched to other team, immediately took their mino out. During my run, BubbaFart must of recovered our mino, cause he blasted me with his mino, so it all worked out.
