I think I'm going to reinstall UT3. I'll probably play for a short while then uninstall again but it seems like a good time to do that.

How many of you have the game? How likely is it you would play again?

I have that atrocious mess of a game. Its on my shelf, serving its purpose, collecting dust. I might consider reinstalling it; just as a reminder of how bad it is.

I installed it, played it once. Went back home to Momma Omni and never looked at it again.

I played all the way through single player until the end. I had trouble beating Akasha or whatever her name is and that's when I quit. I played online a few times and realized that the visual clarity in the game was so much better with low detail maps. None of that vomit on the screen look.

I'm just thinking. UT4 vehicles are a long ways off if they even ever happen and I'm tired of 2K4. No way I'm gonna play WAR much the way it is but maybe on some low detail maps with no orb and no hoverboard it might be better. I wonder how hard it is to mod. Maybe we could make some TMU maps.

Check out these maps. I played CTF-RB-SkyBridge online and it was fun. The others I have but I don't think I ever played them online.

I wouldn't waste time with UT3. When I get burned out with UTk4, there are a lot of other great games to play.

I'm going to get CALL OF DUTY WWII when it comes out. You can get it and play with me.

I remember buying it and playing it on a PC-Rig that I had, I thought the mechanics were too slow. I like the twitch of UT'04 ... My pc power died twice back in '09, didn't resurrect it since. I don't think it was made available for Macintosh, so it is unlikely I'll play it any time soon in the foreseeable future.

Okay so, my bad. Nevermind about all this. I remember now. It took me like 2 minutes before I realized how much I had forgotten about how bad UT3 is. I was hoping things could be tweaked to be less bad but no way.

Some really nice maps were made for UT3. When they move away from the vomit color palette things can start to look pretty good.

I don't like the look of the weapons and they removed the LG. I don't like the UT3 Leviathan and they also neutered player movement.

Well the closest that I was able to find to Onslaught was this mod: https://forums.epicgames.com/unreal-...ight=lightning

...which was discussed briefly in 2009 http://forum.omnipotents.com/showthread.php?t=12342

It adds a number of the weapons back and some of the movement.

I do have a copy of UT3 that sits idle on my PC.

It was my plan to install that mod. I know Sanchez worked hard on it and I wanted to check it out but in those first few minutes of play after the reinstall I decided that there was just no way to fix all the bad stuff in the game. Maybe I'll check it out but it's probably going to be lipstick on a pig.

I believe UT3 was (is) an awesome game. I feel the PC requirements at release is what killed it...few people were online...ever. Even from day 1.

Either that or they can't stand to be alone with their thoughts because the silence is deafening.
