Default [Vehicle] Falcon\Wasp Series II details

Hello all,

Here is a version of Crossfire that contains my 1st attempt at the revamped Falcon and Wasp. One of each will spawn at the core, and
one of each of the current version will spawn at the isolated primary node. That way you can switch between the two versions pretty easily and
take them for a test drive. There is also a stock Raptor at the core so people can compare the updates to that.



As an added bonus, I've added the files for the Battle Bender that I came up with years ago, but it's not on any of the current server maps.
Make sure you check out (use) the right mouse button while you are driving. It will spawn at the core as well.



The following attributes are the ones I've changed for the Falcon. The Wasp has similar adjustments applied. I figured I better list these out so
that the people who think that the new versions would be too week can take a deep breath and relax. Just let me know if the link does not work,
or the map will not run.


CURRENT FALCON:
(weapon settings)
AltFireProjPerFire=12
AltFireProjSpread=1800
FireInterval=0.140000
AltFireInterval=1.300000
Note: The Falcon projectile is set to 30 points damage. Therefore a full Alt-fire (right mouse button) blast can do
a max of 12x30=360 if all projectiles hit the target at once.

(movement settings)
MaxPitchSpeed=3333.000000
MaxThrustForce=240.000000
MaxStrafeForce=150.000000
MaxRiseForce=200.000000
Note: These force variables will basically set how quickly the vehicle can change directions
in the 3 dimensions.


NEW (Series II) FALCON:

(weapon settings)

AltFireProjPerFire=10
AltFireProjSpread=1800
FireInterval=0.180000 (0.20000 = Raptor)
AltFireInterval=1.300000

(movement settings)

MaxPitchSpeed=2500.000000
MaxThrustForce=150.000000
MaxStrafeForce=150.000000
MaxRiseForce=150.000000


STOCK RAPTOR FOR COMPARISON:

(movement settings)

MaxPitchSpeed=2000.000000
MaxThrustForce=100.000000
MaxStrafeForce=80.000000
MaxRiseForce=50.000000


STOCK CICADA FOR COMPARISON:

(movement settings)

MaxPitchSpeed=2000.000000
MaxThrustForce=80.000000
MaxStrafeForce=65.000000
MaxRiseForce=200.000000

I'll check these out. Are the .u files named differently between the 2 versions?

Yes. The new ones are called "Falcon_SeriesII.u" and "Wasp_SeriesII.u"

What do you mean? The Battle Bender is on Denum and gets a lot of use there.
Also, do you mind if I throw your weakened wasp on my Evergreen map edit? There's a couple of Tiamets for it to shred.

Well, I have yet to play Denum because of the 9 varieties of TMU that always gets played instead.

As far as using the new wasp already, I was hoping for more feedback before it makes it on the server. But if you think its ready to go, that's fine by me.

I always recommend myLeveling a vehicle if I'm not sure whether it's really the final version. Also I'm making it a habit again to include a build timestamp in my creations. That way you can easily find out which version is the latest when you look at the default properties in UnrealEd or exported scripts. Obviously that only reflects rebuilds from the original sources, but it's a start.

Danno, are the battle bender files different than the ones already on the server? I couldn't play your crossfire map, even though I had all the required files.

I wouldn't think they would be different, I haven't touched the code on vehicle since I finished it in 2009. Maybe someone else will eventually try it out and confirm if its broken.
