Default In Game VOIP Question

First of all hello to all the ONS players. I'm a regular AS player but I've been picking ONS back up due to it's surge in popularity and the sporadic occupancy of the AS server. Now to my question. I know a lot of people love to use the VOIP in game to coordinate but I personally find it extremely irritating. No offense but some of you guys are "long winded" and I find having no sound for long periods of time aggravating. I've been killed countless times because I can't hear a damn thing and was wondering ...

Is there anyway to disable it on my side? I can't figure it out

Try going into "audio", "voice options and "configure". Then turn "voice chat" volume all the way down. Don't know if this is the incoming chat, or outgoing. Give it a whirl.

I tried for a week to disable incoming voice. No matter what settings I changed, I couldn't get rid of it. Eventually I just gave up and joined in on the random bleeting.

oh dear, that was some pretty bad bleeting (literally) last night, wasn't it. went something like this:

heal the core
moo
baa
heal the core
yip yip
weeeorble
everyone heal the core
does that work?
only if everyone on the team links together in one big long chain!
maa
boooo

and so on, untill they finally killed us all

And you'll miss out on me trying (empisis on trying...) to organise the team to work together if you turn it off...

People who say "heal the core" should be session kicked.

but it's fun winding the newbiesregulars up...

normally gets a laugh from the rest of the losing team, as long as it doesn't start until we REALLY don't have a chance, giving up before we have no chance (even if that chance would require perfect play from the entire team) yeah, I can see that deserving a session kick, but when it's truely hopeless? let us have our fun

[edit from Carpe] He was KIDDING Illy. geeze.. need you Brits have everything spelled out ?? And yes, this is a "post hijack"

Actually, you can get rid of the VoIP quite easily. Either use the voice menu to leave all channel, or simply do it from the in-game settings. If the GUI does not work... which could be well possible, open user.ini, find AutoJoinMask under [Engine.PlayerController] then set it to 0 (1 for Public, 2 for Local, 4 for Team, and you can mix 'em all).

Not to derail. But does anyone else have an issue with incoming voice cutting out when using EAX?

I used to use EAX or Creative in general and I had the same problem. It wasn't til I got a USB headset which has its own soundcard that I could hear everyone.

I tried changing around all the settings yet it still happened. I doubt there's a way to fix it man. Sorry.
