GAMES Bioshock 2 (Four pack on Steam $135)

Similar to what has been going on with L4D/2 and Borderlands, you can buy a copy for yourself and get three gift versions for friends; with the 10% preorder discount it works out to $34 per copy. As a bonus they're including 4 giftable copies of the first Bioshock, though there's doubt about giving one to yourself so make sure the person who buys it already has theirs.

Anybody have thoughts on the game? I still haven't played the first, but I'll probably do it this weekend (picked it up for $5 during the holiday sale) to see if I like it enough.

I just got the first one a couple weeks ago. I'm gonna go ahead and say it's really strange, creepy, and highly overrated. Before I buy the second, I need to hear reviews. Someone told me you can play Bioshock 2 online which would be nice since the first one is single player only.

There is multiplayer in the sequel, but I don't know anything about it other than it's powered by Games for Windows Live. Maybe someone else here knows more about it, or just hit up one of the numerous gaming websites for a review.

The first one was sweet. Not the god-send a lot of people made it out to be, but still a great game that I have played through several times.

I will definitely get BioShock 2, but I am not sure right now if I will get it through steam or if I need a physical DVD for it (which I only need it my GF wants to play it too).

I heard you can make more practicable use of plasmids now, since you have one hand for the guns and one for the plasmids, what will save you from switching between the two kinds until you noticed that the guns are always the better choice. Using both dynamically now, could give you more nice chances to use them.

Bioshock lives probably a lot from it's atmosphere, it doesn't need to be as good as UT in gameplay. If you have no eye for the atmosphere, then the game may look bad to you.
