Sry - that's my fault, I just went to a old MOTD that was already there when I took the AS message out - should be fixed - we love all the admins equally!!

I corrected that for you (sorry can't resist):

For the PPH from spec to join you can just reconnect to the server. If you just join than your PPH are down.
And for me the PPH are very variable depending on mod, map, lag/ping and opponents. With stronger opponets your PPH are mostly lower (unless you just point your big BOOOM tank on the spawn point from the locked but cut down core, which is very lame).

I have demos and demos of sandbaggers. And they're people who you wouldn't have believed. I had no idea until I took a third and forth look of my demos. But by far the most painful one for me was 40oz. Recently, I've sandbagged a Masterbath. It's not in my character, but then again, I just went with the flow. I can't change people.

I finished my rant...

Sandbagging

Sandbagging, hiding the strength, skill or difficulty of something or someone early in an engagement, may refer to:
  • Sandbagging in billiards and other games, deliberately playing below one's actual ability in order to fool opponents into accepting higher stakes bets, or to lower one's competitive rating in order to play in a future event with a higher handicap and consequently have a better chance to win; the term has spread to chess, golf and other such games. Also known as hustling.
  • Sandbagging (law), suing for a breach of a contractual representation or warranty despite having known at the time of the contract that it was untrue.
  • Sandbagging (sales), when one withholds sales on purpose to help him qualify for next month's promotions or withholds due to laziness.
  • Sandbagging (social), when one withholds comments or information that could support another person's or party's cause or argument, especially after a previous understanding, or implied understanding, that support would be provided.
  • Sandbagging (media), obtaining an interview or footage rights from someone expecting a positive piece, then cutting or contextualizing it into a negative story.
  • Sandbagging (professional wrestling), where a wrestler being lifted intentionally shifts his weight to feel heavier, making the other wrestler app

I check for idle players at the start of a match.
If they haven't moved at the 2 minute mark then they get kicked.

Sandbaggers are harder to take admin action against since it needs to be very clear cut.
If someone is putting in an effort to play, even a mediocre one, then it is better to leave them alone.

You can tell that most of the noobs (yes, they are still showing up) are at least trying.
But you still get the people that will join a populated multiplayer server just to drive a badger around aimlessly or check out the kewl guns.

It's very easy. Either follow your teammates or head towards the noisy explosions. How hard is that?
There are some that just keep screwing around even after a 'Play or leave' warning followed up with a freeze and another 'Play or leave' warning.
The kick command solves that problem nicely.

The ones that run around aimlessly firing their gun at walls, the ground, the air, friendly vehicles, etc are the best.
The 'vomit' command was made for those clowns.
Ill pipe in...

I took a hard stance on this on the DW server. This and the chronic team switching.

I gave sandbaggers a written warning,in game, then a 0 kick then it went from there. Alot of players were on 100 game kicks for just this ...idling. Sadly the majority were long time players I knew from Cains Lair days.

I think the outcome is obvious the DW ons server is dead and I get the label ass hard ass and dick. People just dont want to play by the rules or rules only apply to other player not them.

Kinda, I think in ONS context it has to do with deliberate sabotage of the team then?

The next fuck-tard I catch sitting idle and bitching about how the game is over, just give up now so we can get to the next map, is gonna get a spectate and a vid capture from me to show what an ass they are. Should be a bannable offense IMHO.

If you don't wanna play because your team is losing, please leave or spectate. But don't waste a spot on our team and the map for the rest of us. It's very disrespectful to your teammates.. Leave so we can re-balance the teams.

All hands on deck soldier.

Nothing better than being down 2 people instead of 1... Call it out and move on.

McLovin, this is something of a recently touchy subject for me. It may have been me you heard expressing a similar sentiment last night. I believe you were on my team at the time when what I said was that I was no longer going to attack or build a primary node the other team took down because maybe only one other person on a 12+ man team would come help, i.e. “just show up!” I think I even threatened to just stop playing, though I NEVER actually do that.

Now, I have always had a “fight to the bitter end” attitude in this game... until recently because of the steady decline in balanced teams.

If I have a team full of stormers-like players that are just not going anywhere near the nodes, I can often hustle my ass off on a small enough map and hold the other team to a one point win... leading to our slow, excruciating and exhausting loss one round/point at a time. I just don’t have the patience or will any longer to duke it out like that hoping that I might pick up a couple good players. It’s just not fun. So, I will still play, killing the other team (something fun), but will stop going to critical nodes knowing that the other team will quickly end it. Then hopefully the next map the teams are better balanced, but that’s unfortunately usually not the case. So, rinse and repeat until if/when more good players log on or I just get frustrated and leave.

The reality is it’s never all hands on deck with 3/4 of the players left here. Most just don’t aggressively go to nodes. It’s just indicative of the society we live in now I guess with so many lazy fuckers out there that just have no hustle, no drive to succeed (which is synonymous with “win” BTW, check your thesaurus).

I’ve had a couple people say to me lately, “Enyo why don’t you just have fun and play?” Well I wouldn’t play if it wasn’t fun, but you are a flat out fucking liar if you say winning isn’t fun. Losing in general is not fun for anyone. A rare exception is in this game... if a team fights hard and loses, it’s still fun. When a team does jack shit and loses, not fun.

It wasn't you.

I'm not gonna stoop to naming names, not yet. The first map, kamek, we had like 5 minutes left, getting creamed and unnamed offender pulled their hurricane off into the weeds and sat idle, just chatting about how we should all give up now and just get this over with. Fuck that. I called them out on it. Then we started coming back. We recovered our primary, then our corner node. But in the end we lost horribly.

Next match, the same guy has called it quits and is idle again. There's a pattern here.

If I've had it with a team, I'll rage, quit, walk away, take a break. But I'm not going to sit idle and wait for the next map, that's dishonest. I've taken breaks, then come back later, same team is now winning, good for them, they got some new blood in the mix and turned it around. Maybe me leaving opened a spot for somebody that was waiting to play and made a difference in the team dynamics.

I'd stoop to name names, but that's me, if someone acted out as you said this person did in a Freakin' Hurricane.
