![]() Fxd1 now supercedes the original. Racetown-v4c has been removed for being stupid (ZenCoders is buggy as shit). Ankara this weekend, I promise.

![]() Fuck Ankara, live without emitters. That is all.
edit: FUCK EPIC, too. Apparently you can fix it by copying all the emitters, deleting all the emitters, then pasting them all back in. Which of course hoses everything but the torches, and I'm not recreating 20+ jump pads and smoke clouds by hand. Last edited by Rupert Quentin Pollard; 03-21-2009 at 11:26 PM.. |

![]() How do I grab the maps from cache? I did it a long time ago but forgot how. I remember a folder with maps cached. And I also remember a place to download maps for this server. I would like to go through them offline.

![]() They're in the cache folder, amazingly. There should be a txt file with the name conversions, or get a cache extracting program to automate it.
We don't host a map pack download or anything, and most of them wouldn't run without a dozen other files anyway. |

![]() Good luck with your research, Evilution. I've got another suggestion for you. If you haven't done so already, you may wish to spend some time reading through the archives of the AS forums as I seem to recall other people doing this sort of testing and analysis from time to time as well. It may be irrelevant (e.g. maps or versions that aren't there anymore) or it might provide some insight on what else to look for while testing.

![]() One map comes to mind that I do not see.....Trek. I remember it gave me lag on my old rig, but I loved that map.

![]() Trek was fun, problem was it could either be obscenely easy or obscenely difficult to win
If 2 guys got mantas and beelined for the engine, one could grab it, hop on the other manta and if that driver was good, have a free ride to the ship Inversely, if there was even a tiny mistake or a good defense, it'd run all 30 minutes

![]() Did you ever play the super duper link turret spam version? Stupid map. Almost every map on the server was in my map folder, and I only keep good ones.

![]() Trek rocked!! v10 that storm did was the best!!
I don't think it would be a good fit right now though, trek is one of those maps that really blow without a full server (or close to it). |

![]() I can imagine it might be a lot of fun with a lot of people but it tended to empty the server IIRC.

![]() With all due respect, can we please see how the server plays without the racing maps....Hellbender Race (all versions), Race Town, Daredevils, and such like maps that have no combat value? I know it's my own opinion and I can be wrong but, I always felt these maps hurt the server. It never fails, especially lately that even though these maps get voted, people still complain and leave. I just try to stick it out to support human player count on the server but I think we can live without them...at least until the server is back on track. I'm just afraid we are losing players after about 10 minutes into the matches. Some leave immediately. I know I used to.

![]() Or at least tweaked so the rear turrets don't punt so hard

That's one of the few, if not the only one, of muffin's remakes that I actually liked. Every vehicle traveled at like 5x their normal speed. Ever slammed someone else's bender with your bender traveling at the same speed that you reached on leveler race? The resulting acrobatics were pure gold.
