UT3 WAR-T_MushroomKingdomAllS3 : First assault like map

They have a remake of Mushroom Kingdom on the Nachos server!!!
I played it on and offline and its fun.You people should give it a try

The gritty dirty detailed look of UT3 looks great with the blank un-normal mapped textures in that map.

Anyways nice to see it can be done but really a real mod will need to be made and ones on the way.

You have to put it in:C:\Documents and Settings\Para\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps

Did I need to make a few of those folders? because I didn't see folder Published and the subfolders forward.

Yup, just create the folders by hand & all will be well.

I wonder if anyone had the foresight to place $ on which kind of AS map would be released first; Trial, Classic AS or Race

It's alot like the original M-Kingdom, all in all should be fun online.

This map was great! It totally felt like a variant on the MushroomKingdom we know and lo[ve|ath] from ut2k4 AS. I loved how each time you completed an objective, you'd get a new node created somewhere near it.

It's also interesting how both teams are trying to achieve the same goals simultaneously rather than there being a team on offense and a team on defense. I guess this is just an artifact of the WAR gametype since it requires there to be power cores and nodes throughout the map somewhere. It just doesn't matter where you put them and what you have to do to create the nodes. Once you run into overtime, the team with the most objectives completed will win the match since they have more nodes than the other team so their timer runs out slower.

BigAl, your pics! they are broke

anyway, I don't think I'll be able to handle all AS maps being C&C style for eternity (the reason I liked AS so much was that I got to play without being forced to defend 24/7 because everyone else wanted to steal the show with their rambo-like attacking (you won't be missed, vCTF) )

there better be a full AS mod or something equivalent eventually

Warfare is supposed to handle true AS style maps... I am wondering if that is not true, or if folks just havent figured out how to do that yet.

You can do a lot of cool shit with Kismet from what I've seen. Since there are nodes which if you hold can damage the core that can be applied to an objective as well and also you can hide the cores and each objective can damage the core. Only thing is it won't have rounds like AS I think.
From what I can tell you can make objectives in WAR but it ain't like AS.

You know, If they want to have the "look and feel" of the original SMB, they better not normal map the textures. They need to be PIXELATED and FLAT.
